Human capital represents one of the most important values of a dynamically developing society. One of the way to achieve the development of human resources is to maximize human potential. The aim of the paper is to highlight coaching as a tool for human capital development and its contribution to human resource management. In the article, we focus on the theoretical starting points and specific opinions of many authors on the field of coaching. We point to the development of a new field of managerial coaching in management as well as to the application of the new role of the manager as a coach. At the same time, we describe the effectiveness and benefit of coaching for the development of human capital. The paper thus offers a closer look at the field of coaching and its use in management.
