- The article reports on the three-way security pact sealed by U.S. President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol. Factors driving the diplomatic relations include threats by China and North Korea and presidential campaign by former U.S. President Donald J. Trump. Terms of the deal include establishment of a three-way hotline for crisis communications, enhancement of ballistic missile cooperation and expansion of joint military exercises.
