Abstract

The article discusses how interleukin-33 (IL-33) influences the interaction between regulatory T (Treg) cells and cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) in the tumor microenvironment. It is reported that IL1RL1+ Treg cells accumulate due to IL-33, promoting immune tolerance and tumor growth. It is further reported that the study identifies the AREG/EGFR axis as a key mediator of communication between these cell types, driving fibrosis and immunosuppression.
