Abstract
- The present study reports a detailed assessment of various reconstruction schemes required for Euler Equation solvers using the open-source CFD platform, OpenFOAM. Three different inviscid flux formulations of Kurganov-Tadmor, Kurganov-Noelle-Petrova, and AUSM+-up of Liou are used to access their performance. The reconstruction of flux at a finite volume cell interface is facilitated by Total Variation Diminishing (TVD) schemes such as Van Leer, QUICK, Min Mod, or Weighted Essentially Non-Oscillatory of arbitrary order (WENO). The most accurate yet stable inviscid flux formulation with a suitable reconstruction scheme is recommended by performing computations on a standard benchmark problem of oblique shock reflection and accessing the accuracy of all the aforementioned flux formulation and reconstruction schemes.
