Abstract
- Improved resolutions of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) have complicated real-time high-accuracy imaging. To reduce the time and power required by digital processing algorithms, we propose a novel idea of photoelectric combination and design a SAR optical imaging system. Range matched filtering is realized in the digital domain, whereas azimuth autofocusing is realized through free propagation in the optical domain, with range cell migration correction at the speed of light. To adapt to changeable SAR parameters, a compound lens is formed by combining spatial light modulators. The system is simple, compact, efficient, and adaptable, with nano-second processing delays.
