Synthesis of metal organic frameworks and their applications in drug delivery.

Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) are coordination compounds formed by metal centers and organic linkers. The metal organic frameworks have the potential to act as a promising drug carrier due to their properties like high porosity, biological stability, adjustable shape and size, less toxicity, and controllable drug release. The drug is released when a stimulus (pH, Light, Temperature, magnetic field, etc.) is applied.
