Abstract

The study was conducted during the 2018 growing season on date palm trees (Phoenix dactylifera L.) in one of the private orchards in the center of Dhi Qar Governorate. To study the effect of several female cultivars (Al-Khadrawi, Al-Sayer, Al-Shuwaithi) and spraying by growth stimulator Algazone (0, 3, 6 ml.l−1) on Chemical properties (total sugars %, reducing sugars %, sucrose %) of date palm fruits in the khalal and Al-Rutab stages. They showed: Al-Shuwathi cultivar excelled in obtaining the highest significant increase in the percentage of total sugars by (65.55 and 70.97) % and the lowest percentage in reducing sugars in the Khalal stage, then the highest percentage in the Al-Rutab stage by (21.68 and 56.58) %, respectively, and the highest percentage of sucrose in the Khalal stage, it reached the lowest in the Al-Rutab stage by (43.87 and 14.39) %, respectively, in the Khadrawi and Al-Sayer cultivars. The growth stimulator treatment 6 ml.l−1 Algazone was significantly superior in increasing the percentage of total corpuscles (65.65 and 70.85) % and the lowest percentage in reducing sugars for the Khalal stage, then the highest percentage in the Al-Rutab stage by (21.52 and 65.50) %, respectively and higher The proportion of sucrose in the Khalal stage and then reached the lowest in the Al-Rutab stage by (44.13 and 14.36) % compared to the two treatments 0 and 3 ml.l−1. The interactions had a significant effect on the studied traits, Al-Shwaiti cultivar with 6ml.l−1 Algazone significantly increased the percentage of total sugars and the percentage of reduced total sugars in the Khalal stage and the lowest in the Al-Rutab phase. The highest sucrose content was in the Khalal stage and then reached the lowest in the Al-Rutab stage. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
