Abstract

100 years ago, two scientists M.N. Saha and S.N. Basu tried to give an equation of state for real gas system by taking into consideration the probabilistic theory of finite volume of gas molecules as well as the influence of cohesive force. As compared to experimental observation, their theoretical prediction elucidates very close agreement of critical coefficient value. However, this unusual equation of state gets very little attention from the scientific community. In this study, the Saha-Basu equation is revisited. Critical coefficients as well as critical exponents corresponding to Saha-Basu equation are critically explored. Furthermore, interactions among the gas particles obeying Saha-Basu equation is still an open problem which we try to discuss in this article. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
