British Photodermatology Group: Summaries of Papers.

The article presents the summaries of papers related to photodermatology. Patients with systemic psoralen sensitization need to wear adequate eye protection for the day of ingestion of psoralen. A comparative assessment of the ultraviolet radiation transmission of sunglasses for patients receiving photochemotherapy. A simplified method for checking patient eyewear for suitability for systemic psoralen ultraviolet A (PUVA) uses a suitably filtered detector to measure the transmission of UVA from a hand/foot PUVA unit. However, not all units have the equipment or expertise to be able to treat patientsown glasses routinely for suitability for use after PUVA therapy.
