Abstract

Postmodernity is a movement that arose as a result of the crisis of the dominant modernity, confronting many of the great projects which exalted the dominion and the power of man, and replacing them with smallness, what is local, and other alternatives. One of the most outstanding characteristics of postmodernity is the influence of mass media that invades and exerts its influence in daily life, to the point where nothing astonishes or even disturbs us. In this paper certain aspects that characterize postmodernity are presented making special emphasis on aspects such as: the influence of mass media, sexuality in a virtual world and violence in postmodern society.
