Abstract

Aberrant internal carotid artery is a rare birth defect. It occurs when the artery takes an abnormal course, the discovery of which is fortuitous but in the presence of dysphonia or chronic cough; this anomaly remains a diagnosis of exclusion. Cervicothoracic CT scan with injection of contrast product confirms the diagnosis. We report the case of a 64-year-old patient who presented with an aberrant course of an aneurysmal internal carotid artery revealed by dysphonia and chronic cough. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
