Abstract

This article discusses the correlation between falls and social participation in patients with post-stroke hemiparesis. The cross-sectional study included seven patients with a mean age of 67.14 years. It was observed that patients have a higher subjective perception of the risk of falls and restrictions in the domains of work, recreation, and community life. Although weak to moderate negative correlations were found between the risk of falls and the domains of social participation, these correlations were not statistically significant. It is concluded that a reduction in concern about falls may be related to increased social participation after a stroke. [Extracted from the article]
