RASTREIO DE SARCOPENIA EM INDIVÍDUOS PÓS ACIDENTE VASCULAR CEREBRAL NO HEMICORPO PARÉTICO E NÃO PARÉTICO: UM ESTUDO COMPARATIVO.

This article presents a comparative study on the screening of sarcopenia in post-stroke individuals in the paretic and non-paretic hemibody. The objective of the study was to compare the values obtained for sarcopenia screening between the two sides of the body in chronic post-stroke individuals. The study was conducted on 54 individuals with an average age of 56 years, of which 67% had ischemic stroke. A statistically significant difference was observed in the sarcopenia screening scores between the paretic and non-paretic side, indicating a higher occurrence of sarcopenia in the paretic side. It is concluded that sarcopenia screening in chronic post-stroke individuals should be performed considering the paretic side of the individual. [Extracted from the article]
