The influence of mathematics secondary teacher's competencies on students' higher order thinking skill ability in Cimahi city.

This paper is the results of research that aims to determine the influence of teacher competence (pedagogic, personality, social, and professional) on students' higher order thinking skills ability. This analysis used a quantitative approach with a descriptive-correlational method. The population of this study was all secondary school mathematics teachers in Cimahi, while the sample taken was 100 teachers. The research data was obtained by using a questionnaire in the form of a semantic differential scale. Data analysis was performed using path analysis. The results of the study shown that three of four teacher competences have a noteworthy impact on students' higher order thinking skills ability. Hopefully could provide awareness for teachers, how big the impact of teacher competencies on students' higher order thinking skill ability. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
