Abstract

A meta-analysis published in the Journal of Endourology compared the outcomes of single-port robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) to multiport RARP. The study found that the single-port group had a shorter hospital stay and catheterization time, as well as a lower need for postoperative pain medication compared to the multiport group. The authors concluded that single-port RARP provides similar perioperative, functional, and tumor outcomes to multiport RARP, which can help clinicians make evidence-based treatment decisions for prostate cancer. However, the inclusion and exclusion process of the study and the lack of subgroup analysis for different surgical systems were raised as potential concerns. [Extracted from the article]
