Qualidade no jornalismo e democracia: uma revisão sistemática de literatura.

This article presents a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of scientific articles in Portuguese, English and Spanish, and dissertations and theses (in Portuguese), published between 2010 and 2021, which address the relationship between quality in journalism and democracy. The goal was to map how this connection is investigated in scientific research and identify some aspects, such as: Type of Research; Methods and Techniques; Object; and Country(ies) of the sample. We used four indexing bases: Web of Science; Scopus; Scielo; and Catálogo de Teses e Dissertações da Capes. Using a code book, we analyzed 33 papers. All of them were double coded and submitted to intercoder reliability tests. The results show a predominance of the empirical approach (n=21) and content analysis (CA) as the most used methodological tool. We discuss the implications of the findings for future analyses, the advantages of SLRs and the relevance of this research agenda. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
