Abstract

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is one form of brain injury that damage real brain tissue, where it can change brain function permanently or only temporarily. Stroke is a complication of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) for a long time. Based on electroencephalography (EEG) signals, brain wave signals include alpha, beta, delta theta, and gamma. Commonly used signals in research are alpha and beta signals. This experimental quantitative study aims to identify the differences in brain wave signals between a brain normally and brain injury (stroke). Analysis of alpha and beta brain waves found in the normal and stroke identified using two EEG measurement tools, Emotiv Insight and Neurosky Mindwave. Based on the results obtained from this study, there is a significant difference in brain wave signal between a brain normally and brain injury (stroke). This research found that different devices will give a different range but still in the same polar and pattern. Each sub-xband will experience a large percentage drop if Attention (Beta) drops 76 %, while for a Meditation (Alpha) it drops 71 %. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
