For the foundation settlement monitoring and analysis of offshore reclamation project, the instruments such as settlement plate and layered settlement instrument were usually installed to carry out settlement monitoring after backfilling to form land area, however, it is difficult to monitor the settlement caused by the reclamation process. For the main reclamation works of Hong Kong International Airport three runway system project, cone penetration testing (CPT) detection technology was used to assess the interface of different soil layers for the first time, which is used to calculate and analyze the foundation settlement in the process of backfilling construction. This paper provides a new approach to settlement calculation and measurement, and provides valuable references for similar projects. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
