Abstract
- This paper examines the issue of educational fragility in terms of three dimensions: explicit and implicit early school leaving (ESL) and educational poverty. The three dimensions are analysed in the form of an interpretative taxonomy. Explicit ESL is basically a measure of the extent to which students drop out of school early. Implicit ESL, on the other hand, is a measure of the proportion of young people who leave school without the expected level of preparation. Finally, educational poverty is seen as a kind of logical sum of the two previous dimensions. Reducing educational poverty requires, first and foremost, an in-depth pedagogical and cultural reflection capable of unravelling the knots that still burden our schools. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
