Abstract

By combining two different types of layered nanofillers and making full use of synergistic effects, the frictional properties of the coating can be further improved. In this study, GO-MXene composites with "sandwich" structures were successfully prepared. Compared with pure PI, the tensile modulus of PI/GO-MXene composite coating is increased by 18.45 %, the tensile strength is increased by 54.49 %, the wear rate is reduced by 91.6 %, and the coefficient of friction is reduced by 34.4%. This is mainly due to the "bridging effect" of the polydopamine (PDA) to form the GO-MXene-GO "sandwich" structure, which gives full play to the synergistic lubrication between GO and MXene. [Display omitted] • The sandwich structure GO-MXene composite fillers are prepared by PDA bridging. • GO and MXene synergistically improve the frictional properties of PI composites. • Compared with pure PI, the COF of PI/GO-MXene composite is reduced by 34.4 %. • Compared to pure PI, the wear rate of PI/GO-MXene composite is reduced by 91.6 %.
