Abstract
- The article analyzes the managerial reform of Pernambuco's education carried out since 2008 by the Programa de Modernização da Gestão/Metas para a Educação (PMGP/ME). The results discussed in this study are based on two years of bibliographic review and documentary analysis about the management reform of Pernambuco education (2007-2018), aiming to show how the "PMGP/ME" have produced changes in the school in question as a social institution and the results-based management model have been contributing to the reconfiguration of educational purposes. From this perspective, the reform of Pernambuco education is oriented more by a conception of the school as a "production system", driven by the improvement of goals and results, than as an institution with broader social purposes (MAROY; VOISIN, 2013).
