La Sagrada Escritura en las enseñanzas del pontificado de Juan Pablo II.

The thesis analyzes the presence and function of Sacred Scripture in the writings of John Paul II. The absence of previous monographic works on the question makes it necessary to construct a method based on articles from academic journals that do deal with the subject. The questions most widely treated in the theology of Scripture during John Paul II's pontificate are discussed and compared with the places where he dealt expressly with the subject: essentially, his discourses to the Pontifical Biblical Commission. The extensive use of Scripture in his lengthy Petrine magisterium is analyzed statistically and thematically. In the light of these data, John Paul II's exegesis of a particular text of Scripture in analyzed, and the echo that modern exegesis has in the papal documents is considered. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
