Abstract

The use of biological by-products for soil improvement corresponds to circular economy and also contributes to longer and slower supply of nutrients to the soil necessary for tree plantations in natural ecosystems. The authors tested the effects of different proportions of wood ash and biogas digestate mixtures on growth parameters of Scots pine Pinus sylvestris, as well as understory vegetation. The results show that more than two growing seasons are rto assess the effect of soil amendment on slow-growing woody plants. The negative effects of fertilization on understory vegetation were not observed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
