Abstract
- The paper presents the results of calculating the thermal-hydraulic heat exchange efficiency processes for direct and swirl (using an inserted twisted tape) pipe air flows at the same transferred heat fluxes and temperature conditions. The calculated energy efficiency, which characterizes the thermal-hydraulic heat exchange efficiency, demonstrated the ratio of transferred heat and energy consumption for pumping the coolant during the heat exchange for these two cases to be almost the same for coolant-flow Reynolds numbers up to 2.5 ⋅104. At large Reynolds numbers, the thermal-hydraulic efficiency of a direct flow heat exchange is higher. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
