Abstract

It is widely accepted that endurance is critical for daily tasks, as it prevents the body from becoming fatigued during physical activity. Every individual, including school student, requires endurance, as various types of schools, most notably vocational high schools, require additional practise. It is unknown, however, whether high school students and students enrolled in vocational schools have the same level of endurance. As such, the purpose of this study was to assess the endurance of eleventh-grade students enrolled in high schools and vocational schools throughout Pesisir Barat Regency. The data for this comparative descriptive study were collected through the use of a multistage fitness test (MFT). The sample for this study consisted of 30 students from a public high school in Central Pesisir and 30 students from a public vocational school in Krui. The data were analysed using a t-test. The t-count value of 0.127 was greater than the t-table value of 1.753, indicating that no significant difference in endurance existed between the two groups of participants. The study's implications are also discussed, as are future research recommendations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
