Abstract

The influence of concentration on the optical properties (linear and non-linear) of malachite green organic laser dye melted in ethanol solvent was investigated in this work at concentrations (10−4 and 10−5) M. All samples' linear optical characteristics were determined using a UV-VIS spectrophotometer. Organic laser dyes have a wavelength range of (200-420) nm. In all cases, Z-Scan was used to determine nonlinear optical properties. The results reveal that all samples with a concentration of (10−4) M have extremely large linear and nonlinear optical characteristics in comparison to samples with a concentration of (10−5) M. As a result, this organic dye has the potential to be employed as an active laser medium and as a component of photonic systems, including optical power limiting. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
