TRAVESÍAS HISPANAS DE BARTHES.

This article traces the circulation in Spanish of Barthes’ work from the early 1960s to the 1980s. We focus especially on the most important Barthesian translations and critical uses in the Argentinean intellectual field, which we place in dialogue with other critical fields in Spain and Mexico, whose comparative approach will allow us to observe critical positions that are different from the circulation of ‘French theory’ in the countries of the North. In this journey across the Atlantic, we finally analyse some of the polemics and conjunctures from which Barthes was read in the South. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
