Abstract

Hepatitis E virus (HEV) is a pathogen for viral hepatitis and can be transmitted across species via animals. The incidence rate of hepatitis E caused by HEV infection ranks first among acute viral hepatitis worldwide, and now it has become a major public health issue that threatens human health. In recent years, more and more species have been identified as the natural hosts of HEV, and there are more routes for the interspecies transmission of HEV, which greatly inhibits the prevention and control of this virus. Therefore, this article reviews and discusses the advances in the interspecies transmission of HEV, so as to provide a reference for the prevention and control of HEV. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
