Abstract
- "Anzac Nations: The Legacy of Gallipoli in New Zealand and Australia 1965-2015" by Rowan Light is a comparative analysis of the Gallipoli legacy and commemorations in New Zealand and Australia. The book examines the memory of Gallipoli and its meanings, showing that New Zealand has been more inclusive and elastic in its commemoration compared to Australia. It highlights the influence of government organizations and money in shaping national narratives and explores the strategies and reactions of protest groups against Anzac Day. The book also discusses the integration of Indigenous voices into the Anzac national story, with M¿ori traditions being more prevalent in New Zealand than Indigenous voices in Australia.
