Abstract

A case report describes the treatment and subsequent complications experienced by a 17-year-old boy with Burkitt lymphoma. The patient received multiple rounds of CAR-T cell therapy, which resulted in cytokine release syndrome. Despite additional treatments, including allogeneic CAR-T therapy and bone marrow transplantation, the patient experienced persistent bone marrow failure and recurrent infections. The efficacy of certain medications, such as ciclosporin, hydrocortisone, mycophenolate-mofetil, and ruxolitinib, was found to be lacking in preventing graft versus host disease. The report concludes that the cytokine release syndrome was attributed to the various CAR-T cell therapies administered. [Extracted from the article]
