Abstract

The article describes the personality of highly sensitive people (HSP), which coincides with a desire to obtain special privileges or accommodations for difficult tasks. Observations among HSPs include being overwhelmed by their environment, moved by the arts and music, and more aware of nuances in surroundings. It suggests the link between self-identified HSPs and narcissistic personality traits and refers to vulnerable or hypersensitive narcissism as a quieter, more passive aggressive form.
