Abstract

This article examines the concept of kinship within the context of Peruvian Mormonism and its interaction with Anglo Mormonism. It focuses on the experiences of Jacoba, a Peruvian immigrant and active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and explores the complexities of kinship and relatedness within different cultural and religious contexts. The article also discusses the impact of US immigration policies on family-based migration and challenges the notion that DNA is the sole determinant of relatedness. Overall, it provides insights into the diverse ways in which kinship is constructed and understood within the Peruvian Mormon community. [Extracted from the article]
