Abstract

Resultantly from a master's research that aims to analyze the perceptions of school coordinators about the work of pedagogical coordination from the perspective of democratic management as well as the challenges at carrying out collective work. A research developed at the Municipal Education Network - Elementary School, in Itapetinga, Bahia, with seven school pedagogical coordinators and four school managers from the same school and two technical coordinators work as subjects of the research. As a method of analysis, the study is based on dialectics, from the perspective of historical materialism. We have appropriated bibliographic research for theoretical study of the object of study and as instruments for data collection we used documentary analysis and semi-structured interviews. The research results reveal, among other aspects, important aspects for reflection; the conditions for the coordinator to 'articulate' pedagogical activities within spaces that are not considered democratic; training cannot only be a duty of the pedagogical coordinator, but requires action by the State; the difficulties the coordinator has when there are no working conditions and performance of the tasks guaranteed by the State.
