Assessment of vitamin B12 in diabetes type 2 patients in Al-Najaf city.

This study was designed to explore prevalence of vitamin B12 deficiency in patients of type 2 diabetes. To achieve this aim we collected data of 110 patients (70 men and 40 women). Investigation of the data clarified that 61.43% of men 65% of women were with vitamin B12 deficiency. Number of people with B12 deficiency were significantly higher than those with normal level. The study recommended a periodical checking for vitamin B12 levels in patients of type 2 diabetes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
