Abstract

This article discusses the case of a 47-year-old woman with dermatitis herpetiformis (DH) who experienced intractable pruritus despite adherence to a gluten-free diet and treatment with various medications. The patient was successfully treated with baricitinib, a small molecule that inhibits the JAK-STAT signaling pathway. Baricitinib significantly improved the patient's pruritus and quality of life. The article suggests that JAK inhibitors like baricitinib may be a promising therapeutic option for patients with DH and other inflammatory conditions. [Extracted from the article]
