Abstract

Relevance. Formation of a healthy lifestyle of the population, the control of non-communicable diseases and prevention is one of the most important tasks of the Russian Federation. Purpose. Identification of risk factors that increase the likelihood of developing chronic non-communicable diseases in employees of Russian Railways JSC. Materials and Methods. The total volume of the online survey is 25,810 people or 3 % of the full-time number of employees. The survey dates: January-February of 2021. A quota sample was used to select respondents. Quotas were carried out according to the following criteria: territorial affiliation, functional branches, categories of employees. The data underwent the procedure of "weighing" (the number of employees of railways, functional branches, representatives of female and male, different age categories). Results. Only 9 % of respondents fully meet the criteria for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. According to the body mass index criterion, 44 % of overweight and obese men were identified. The prevalence of obesity and overweight among men is 1.5 times higher than among women. Men are less focused on healthy eating than women. Managers and specialists observe the principles of healthy nutrition more than other categories of employees. Employees are characterized by the lowest number of persons with a sufficient level of physical activity. No gender differences were found, although there is a tendency that a sufficient level of physical activity is more common in men than in women. Smoking is more common in men than in women. Workers smoke more often than other categories of employees of Russian Railways JSC. Employees are less likely than other categories of employees do not drink alcohol. Women are more likely than men do not drink alcohol. Conclusion. The data obtained by the results of the conducted sociological research indicate the need to promote the values and practices of a healthy lifestyle in the divisions of Russian Railways JSC.
