Abstract

The Yearbook of the Association of Pacific Coast Geographers has announced the winners of the 2022 APCG Student Paper Awards. The winners include Daniel Grafton from San Diego State University and University of California, Santa Barbara for his paper on sustainable tourism and global climate change in polar regions, Clara Atwell and Sadie Calhoun from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for their study on modeling forest transition in Taucamarca, Peru, and Andrew Wallace from California State University, Fullerton for his research on organizational challenges in municipal GIS implementations. Other winners include Danielle Gerger from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for her paper on forest plantation transitions in the Peruvian Andes, Frida Timan from the London School of Economics for her study on the political lives of 'maintenance' in San Francisco's parklets, and Olivia Cameron from Oregon State University for her research on social identity and agricultural decision making.
