Abstract

This article discusses the state licensing requirements for antiracism education for physicians in the United States. The authors conducted a review of physician accreditation requirements for each state and found that as of August 2023, 12 out of 50 states have antiracism training requirements. The topics covered in these requirements vary, with the most common being implicit bias and cultural competency. The authors highlight the need for further evaluation of the impact of antiracism training on physicians' attitudes and patient outcomes, as well as the importance of addressing larger structural forces in racial health disparities.
