Abstract

Delay in changing the infusion device can pose a risk to patient safety, both low risk and high risk. 7 out of 10 patients have experienced increased blood flow to the infusion tube and 2 out of 10 patients even died. The survey results showed that 85.7% was caused by the delay in the nurse's response. The monitoring system is one of the important aspects in the use of infusion devices to reduce risks that can endanger patient safety. The purpose of this research is to develop an ergonomic and innovative infusion monitoring system to increase reusability. The results of this study is design of an ergonomic infusion monitoring system requires several attributes desired by users, including safe, efficient, and easy to use, these attributes are designed through an independent axiomatic design process. Usability improved in the use of IoT-based automated infusion monitoring systems. Before using the automatic infusion monitoring system, the manual monitoring reusability rate was 54% which was classified in the "enough" category, after using the IoT-based infusion monitoring system there was an increase of 28% so that the reusability rate became 82% and included in the usability classification which was " good".
