Abstract

The FBI has stated that there is no evidence to suggest that the driver who crashed an SUV filled with gas canisters into concert traffic in Rochester, New York on New Year's Eve was engaged in terrorism. The incident resulted in the deaths of two people and injuries to at least nine pedestrians. The driver, identified as Michael Avery, intentionally sped up towards the concert traffic and died later in the hospital. The police do not believe that Avery was motivated by political or social biases and his family has suggested that he may have had undiagnosed mental health issues. The motive for the crash remains unknown. [Extracted from the article]
