Abstract

"Moralities of Drone Violence" by Christian Enemark is a comprehensive exploration of the moral judgments surrounding the use of armed drones. Enemark presents four conceptual frameworks for understanding drone violence: war, violent law enforcement, tele-intimate violence, and devolved violence. The book examines the ethical implications of each framework and raises new questions about the use of armed drones. While the examples primarily focus on the United States, Enemark acknowledges the need to consider the growing phenomenon of drone violence by other actors. The book also discusses the experiences of drone operators and the role of artificial intelligence in weapon technologies. However, it falls short in fully engaging with feminist ethics of care, which could provide valuable insights into the moral dimensions of drone violence. [Extracted from the article]
