In this article, the meaning and importance of the crescent symbol in mythology, Jewish Christian tradition and Islamic tradition will be discussed. In addition to being present in many cultures, the crescent symbol has become a symbol reminding of the Islamic religion. Accordingly, it will be examined why the crescent symbol gained sanctity and became a symbol in the Islamic world.
