Abstract

EBay has agreed to pay a $3 million penalty after its employees engaged in a harassment campaign against two bloggers who had criticized the company. The campaign involved sending live cockroaches and a fetal pig to the bloggers. EBay was charged with stalking, witness tampering, and obstruction of justice. The company did not dispute the charges and apologized for its conduct. The former senior director of safety and security at eBay, James Baugh, was sentenced to over four years in prison for his role in the campaign. The bloggers, David and Ina Steiner, expressed their determination to protect First Amendment rights and seek answers. [Extracted from the article]
