Abstract

The range of working temperature in magnetocaloric effect has always been a concern for practical solid-state cooling applications. In this direction, the magnetocaloric effect analysis has been carried out in the composite of hard magnet Barium Hexaferrite and soft magnet Ni-Mn-Sn based Heusler alloy. This composite exhibits a constant high value of magnetic entropy changes with a large working temperature range near and above room temperature. On the other hand, magnetic biasing has been observed between the two magnetic phases in the composite. As a result, the tunable coercivity of the composite can be used in the recording media application. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
