Abstract

This article examines the relationship between fluid management and disease progression in patients with suspected sepsis. The study, conducted in China, found that high fluid intake and fluid balance within 48 hours of ICU admission were associated with disease progression. However, fluid intake and balance within 24 hours of admission did not show a significant association. The study suggests that aggressive fluid management may be linked to disease progression in suspected sepsis patients, but further research is needed to confirm these findings and understand the causal relationships. Clinicians should consider the volume of fluid infusion during the resuscitation of suspected sepsis patients. [Extracted from the article]
