Abstract
- This article discusses a rare case of primary pancreatic hydatid disease, a parasitic infection. The diagnosis of pancreatic hydatid cysts can be challenging, and surgical skill is required to prevent the spread of cyst contents during excision. The case presented involves a 19-year-old male patient with recurrent abdominal pain in the epigastric and left upper quadrant. Imaging and laboratory tests confirmed the diagnosis of hydatid disease, and the patient underwent laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy. It is important to consider primary pancreatic hydatid disease as a differential diagnosis in patients with newly formed pancreatic cysts, especially in endemic areas. Careful surgical intervention is crucial to prevent the spread of cyst contents. [Extracted from the article]
