Abstract
- An interview with lawyer Mary Smith, the first Native American woman to become the president of the American Bar Association (ABA), is presented. Topics discussed include Smith's experiences as ABA president, her plans to help ABA members in addressing challenges to democracy, and lawyers' role as keepers and defenders of democracy. Also discussed are the organization's initiative relating to artificial intelligence and Smith's plan to grow and evolve ABA.
