Abstract
- This article is an editorial that discusses the vertical coupling in the atmosphere-ionosphere-magnetosphere system. The Earth's ionosphere, which is a plasma layer in the upper atmosphere, plays a role in various phenomena and also affects technological systems. The ionosphere is influenced by the solar wind and the Earth's magnetosphere, as well as the neutral atmosphere below it. The article presents various studies that explore the interactions and dynamics within this system, including the impact of solar wind on atmospheric gravity waves, the generation of auroral spirals, and the effects of geomagnetic activity on the ionosphere. The authors emphasize the need for further research to understand the complex interactions and variability within the atmosphere-ionosphere-magnetosphere system. [Extracted from the article]
