Abstract

Wet runway surface will cause aircraft braking performance degradation and affect takeoff and landing safety. The contact force and slip distance of aircraft tires running under different water film thickness, speed and load conditions were studied according to the actual situation of aircraft running on wet slippery surfaces by building a test device for the friction characteristics of contaminated runways, and the relationship between the friction characteristics of tire surfaces and the influencing factors under wet slippery conditions was analyzed. The experimental results show that the water film thickness has a significant impact on the pavement friction characteristics. When the water film thickness is 13 mm, the contact stress between the tire and the pavement changes significantly, and the slip distance increases significantly. With the increase of speed, the contact stress between tire and pavement increases linearly, and too high speed will increase the risk of water skiing. The increase of tire load will reduce the slip distance on the wet skid surface, increase the load of aircraft tires to a certain extent, and effectively improve the friction characteristics on the wet skid surface.
