Abstract

This article, published in the Journal of Neurological Surgery, discusses the development of a semi-automatic method for creating three-dimensional models of primary benign orbital tumors (PBOT). The models are created using preoperative imaging and segmentation software, and they provide valuable information about the tumor's relationship to key structures in the orbit. The authors believe that these models can help surgeons determine the resectability of the tumor and inform the surgical approach. While the study is preliminary and limited in sample size, it demonstrates a replicable technology with potential future applications. [Extracted from the article]
